Leitfaden des Apostels Petrus zu demütiger Führung

00:00:10.650 --> 00:00:17.056
Welcome to the reading of the First Epistle of Peter, Chapter 5, with In the Field Audio Bible.

00:00:17.056 --> 00:00:20.971
My name is Christie, your host for this episode.

00:00:20.971 --> 00:00:29.227
The Apostle Peter offers encouragement and guidance to leaders and members of the church as they navigate challenges.

00:00:29.227 --> 00:00:40.902
He begins by addressing elders, urging them to shepherd God's flock with humility and a willing heart, not out of obligation or for personal gain.

00:00:40.902 --> 00:00:52.993
Peter emphasizes the importance of leading by example, reminding them that their ultimate reward will come from the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, when he returns in glory.

00:00:52.993 --> 00:01:00.473
This serves as a call for leaders to reflect on Christ's character in their care for others.

00:01:00.473 --> 00:01:14.694
Peter then turns to all believers, instructing them to embrace humility in their relationships with one another and to trust in God's care by casting all their anxieties on him.

00:01:14.694 --> 00:01:24.670
Peter highlights the importance of vigilance, warning that the devil prowls like a roaring lion.

00:01:24.670 --> 00:01:40.611
Despite their danger, peter reassures his readers that, by standing firm in faith and resisting the enemy, they are united with believers worldwide in the shared experience of God's sustaining power during trials.

00:01:40.611 --> 00:01:45.311
The chapter concludes with a message of hope and restoration.

00:01:45.311 --> 00:02:00.453
Peter reminds his audience that, after they have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called them to eternal glory in Christ will himself restore, strengthen and establish them.

00:02:00.453 --> 00:02:09.443
This promise of God's unfailing care serves as a reminder of his faithfulness, no matter the circumstances.

00:02:09.443 --> 00:02:20.793
Peter's closing words underscore God's power and dominion, leaving his readers with a sense of hope, trust and confidence in the Lord.

00:02:20.793 --> 00:02:25.431
I hope you have your favorite cup of coffee or tea.

00:02:25.431 --> 00:02:33.623
Sit back, listen and enjoy this reading of the First Epistle of Peter, Chapter 5.

00:02:54.944 --> 00:02:56.830
I'm speaking to the elders among you.

00:02:56.830 --> 00:03:04.115
I was a witness of Christ's sufferings and I will also share in the glory that is going to come.

00:03:04.115 --> 00:03:08.768
I'm making my appeal to you as one who is an elder.

00:03:08.768 --> 00:03:15.572
Together with you, be shepherds of God's flock, the believers under your care.

00:03:15.572 --> 00:03:19.969
Watch over them, though, not because you have to.

00:03:19.969 --> 00:03:22.586
Instead, do it because you want to.

00:03:22.586 --> 00:03:25.348
That's what God wants you to do.

00:03:25.348 --> 00:03:30.131
Don't do it because you want to get money in dishonest ways.

00:03:30.131 --> 00:03:33.288
Do it because you really want to serve.

00:03:33.288 --> 00:03:38.390
Don't act as if you were a ruler over those under your care.

00:03:38.390 --> 00:03:42.009
Instead, be examples to the flock.

00:03:42.009 --> 00:03:44.567
The chief shepherd will come again.

00:03:44.567 --> 00:03:48.330
Then you will receive the crown of glory.

00:03:48.330 --> 00:03:51.408
It is a crown that will never fade away.

00:03:51.408 --> 00:03:56.170
In the same way, I'm speaking to you who are younger.

00:03:56.170 --> 00:03:59.048
Follow the lead of those who are older.

00:04:00.319 --> 00:04:04.331
All of you put on a spirit free of pride toward one another.

00:04:04.331 --> 00:04:07.127
Put it on as if it were your clothes.

00:04:07.127 --> 00:04:15.609
Do this because Scripture says God opposes those who are proud, but he gives grace to those who are humble.

00:04:15.609 --> 00:04:18.105
So make yourselves humble.

00:04:18.105 --> 00:04:24.507
Put yourselves under God's mighty hand, then he will honor you at the right time.

00:04:24.507 --> 00:04:27.346
Turn all your worries over to him.

00:04:27.346 --> 00:04:29.485
He cares about you.

00:04:29.485 --> 00:04:32.947
Be watchful and control yourselves.

00:04:34.199 --> 00:04:36.870
Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion.

00:04:36.870 --> 00:04:40.189
He prowls around looking for someone to swallow up.

00:04:40.189 --> 00:04:42.245
Stand up to Him.

00:04:42.245 --> 00:04:44.867
Remain strong in what you believe.

00:04:44.867 --> 00:04:48.829
You know that you are not alone in your suffering.

00:04:48.829 --> 00:04:53.706
The family of believers throughout the world is going through the same thing.

00:04:53.706 --> 00:05:00.990
God always gives you all the grace you need, so you will only have to suffer for a little while.

00:05:00.990 --> 00:05:04.269
Then God Himself will build you up again.

00:05:04.269 --> 00:05:12.821
He will make you strong and steady, and he has chosen you to share in his eternal glory because you belong to Christ.

00:05:12.821 --> 00:05:16.706
Give him the power forever and ever.

00:05:16.706 --> 00:05:17.869
Amen.

00:05:19.831 --> 00:05:22.235
I consider Silas to be a faithful brother.

00:05:22.235 --> 00:05:25.682
With his help, I have written you this short letter.

00:05:25.682 --> 00:05:26.805
I have written it to encourage you.

00:05:26.805 --> 00:05:34.254
I have written it to encourage you and I have written to speak the truth about the true grace of God.

00:05:34.254 --> 00:05:40.317
Remain strong in it.

00:05:40.317 --> 00:05:43.204
The members of the church in Babylon send you their greetings.

00:05:43.204 --> 00:05:44.889
They were chosen together with you.

00:05:44.889 --> 00:05:50.379
Mark, my son in faith, also sends you his greetings.

00:05:50.379 --> 00:05:52.528
Greet each other with a kiss of friendship.

00:05:52.528 --> 00:05:57.290
May God give peace to all of you who believe in Christ.
